How to use the Email Verification Protocol Demo

Before you can use this demo, you'll need an account on the identity provider. A demo account can be created at identity provider, after which you will be able to sign in here.

You will only be able to use this on Chrome 150+ during the origin trial.

Go to chrome://settings/contactInfo and add a full address record with the email address you have from the identity provider. This also works with gmail as long as it is in its own address record in chrome!

Then return to the home page and use the auto complete to select your email address. Then click submit. You should see a chrome pop-over which spans the address bar and the page boundary saying the email was verified.

Email Verification Protocol (EVP) enables web applications to verify that a user controls an email address without sending a verification email. The protocol uses a three-party model where the browser intermediates between the verifier and an issuer, providing both improved user experience and privacy protection.
